The November Calendar

November Calendar
Record the Days of the month Use this blank to study basic calendar skills. Record the date and weather on your calendar blank. Make sure to put a smile in your weather if the day is a 'running day' for you. Ex. Make a sun with a smily face if you are going to run today!!! Running in the rain? Make a raindrop or umbrella with a smily face in your calendar blank.

November Calendar
Day Blank Record the date, season, and study place value. Print 30 pages for the days of the month. On the first day of the month make a turkey feather in the one's place. Record a numeral one on the blank. On the second day, two turkey feathers etc. On the tenth day draw a hand turkey with running legs in the ten's place. On the eleventh day draw one turkey in the ten's place and a single feather in the one's place. Make those turkey's running turkeys! Have fun with this and learn too.

Two Autumn Running Days so Far for this Young Girl

Run the Seasons with KidsRunning.Com and earn a KidsRunning.Com green ribbon. Here's all you have to do. Print our Run the Seasons charts. Glue them into a file folder and go out for a run. Each time you go running, fill in a square on your chart. Distance does not matter with this program. Just go out for a run and record it on your chart.

Fill in the squares anyway you wish. You may want to color them in, check them off, number them, or use stickers.

My class will be drawing a picture of something that represents the season after they run. In fact for the first 10 days, they are going to 'gather' something on their run and draw it on their Run the Seasons chart. We will save our collections of tens in plastic bags and use them for counting by tens. Here's a helpful link for identifying leaves.

Please be creative with this program. There will be infinite curriculum tie-ins.

We will be adding more and more ideas as the days go by.

Check back for our Run the Seasons Writing Journals and have fun with this.

Doing the Log-a-Mile program already? Do this one too! You can do both and get credit for your runs.

These pages print beautifully on my iMac. They are sized perfectly for my computer. If you cannot get a good copy, please send a SASE with 2 stamps and I will send you a set of masters. Mail to:

Cereal Math with the Run the Seasons Program

I'm using this chart too. It's just right for me and it makes me run a little longer. I run until I find just exactly what I want to draw. Yesterday I found a green leaf. I'm going to earn one of those green KidsRunning.Com ribbons before spring ends.

Send a copy of your completed Run the Seasons Chart to: KidsRunning.Com, P.O. Box 209, Fiskdale, MA 01518. We will send you a KidsRunning.Com 'Run the Seasons' green ribbon.

Did you turn your chart into a work of art? Keep the original and just send in a copy.

Email carol.kids@rodale.com! We would love to hear from you.
